Equipment Inventory Updates


 For the last several months, the University has restricted access to campus for most departments. This has led to a backlog on the normal Equipment Inventory procedures, such as green tagging new equipment and Quarterly/Biennial inventory reviews.

Cost Center Lookup Changes


 Changes were recently made to the Cost Center Lookup Dashboard in OBI to exclude cost centers that have been disabled or end dated.  The dashboard was also modified to show only three-segment cost centers and removing activity and function from the view.  If you are unsure which activity or function should be used for your transactions, please contact your CFAO or their delegate(s) for assistance.  Remember, this lookup does not display all valid cost center combinations, only those that have been used in the system and are available in BobcatBUY and Concur.

Important Payment Reminders for Thankgiving Break and Winter Break Closure


As we wind down the calendar year, it is important to start planning for Thanksgiving and Winter Break Closure (WBC) payments. Since the University will have a modified operating schedule during this period of time, as a result of the mandatory furlough days, please keep in mind the following information:

Mac Antivirus Protection Transitioning to Microsoft Defender ATP


Over the next few weeks, OIT Mac users should see their current antivirus solution (System Center Endpoint Protection or ESET Endpoint Antivirus) replaced with Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) for Mac. This change will occur automatically for University-managed Macs and no action is required to receive the new software.

Applications open for Sustainable Infrastructure Hub Coordinator position


The Ohio University Sustainability Committee is currently seeking a faculty member to oversee and coordinate collaborative sustainability research, engagement, and curriculum efforts for the Sustainable Infrastructure Hub beginning in January 2021.

Sustainable Living Hub Seminar Oct 12 at 5pm

Installing utility-scale solar energy in Ohio could support more than 54,000 construction jobs, generate up to $67.5 million in local tax revenues annually and power over 1.5 million Ohio homes, according to a new study by Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs.

Employees can use their educational benefits for these programs, and they are all available in convenient delivery formats for working professionals.

OHIO receives Tree Campus USA Designation


Ohio University has been designated as a “Tree Campus USA” location by the Arbor Day Foundation for the fourth year in a row. The honor recognizes colleges and universities for promoting healthy trees and engaging students, faculty and staff in conservation efforts.
